Beloved Electrical Parade Returns to Disneyland for a Limited Time

When hearing, “Ladies and gentlemen; boys and girls; Disneyland proudly presents…” my thoughts go back to when I was a little girl sitting on Main Street, U.S.A. with my family during the summers. I can’t help but smile when hearing the start of the announcement, then the “electro-syntho-magnetic musical sound” starts, and in the distance seeing thousands of sparkling lights shine in the darkness. I am happy to announce that Disneyland’s beloved nighttime parade, “Main Street Electrical Parade”, is back at Disneyland for a limited time from August 2, 2019 to September 30, 2019.

After having this classic parade back for a limited engagement in 2017, I was so excited to hear that this parade was coming back home.

The parade floats have not changed since last appearing in Disneyland from January 20, 2017 to August 20, 2017, but I feel the appreciation for this parade has increased. We decided to check out the opening night parade on August 2nd and boy was the turn out better than what I expected! The whole parade route was filled with loving fans 75 minutes before the parade started.

Hearing the music fills my heart with joy as Goofy drives Casey Jr. and the iconic drum out while Minnie and Mickey wave to the crowd. Peter Pan and Captain Hook battling as Smee follows behind in a row boat full of treasure never disappoints.

Pinocchio and his mischievous friends love walking and playing around with the crowd. Just be careful; those mischievous boys from Pleasure Island like to scare you when you least expect it. It sure happened to us!

My favorite part is seeing the pumpkin carriage shimmering from afar. As Cinderella slowly approached, my eyes welled up as if I was seeing an old friend again. I see Cinderella around the park, but for some reason, I can’t help but get emotional seeing her in that classic carriage. It was one of my first memories of her when I was a child. The Step Sisters are always a delight as they fight each other to get the Prince’s attention.

Seeing Elliot and Pete are, in my opinion, a staple and underrated characters but they certainly stand out during the MSEP. The triumphant eagle following up the rear finishes off the parade in a beautiful patriotic way.

This dazzling nighttime parade will be passing through Disneyland until September 30th. Be sure to see it before it goes away.
